Double Distinction of the movie "Playing with the Lens"

New Honorary Distinction for Home New Home Movie Collection. The documentary "Playing with the Lens" won two awards in the contest Filmmakers 2018. Best Editing Award and Third Best Documentary Award. Congratulations to the creative team:

Sazie, Bachar, Nazaneen, Jahanzib, Omar, Zainab, Ameen (teenage refugees from Afghanistan) and teachers Nikos Katsos and Christos Stefanou, who revised the editing of film and participated in the seminars side by side with the refugee students.

Script / Directing consultant was Maria Pesli.

Teenage refugee students from the Eleona Refugee Hospitality Structure participated in Home New Home workshops of StoryDoc. Taking the camera to film and being filmed, talk about their lives, show their everyday life in the educational structure of the Ministry of Education in Eleonas and create a participatory video. Home New Home workshops are being conducted under the Open Schools program of the Municipality of Athens with an exclusive donor to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, which also supported the education of refugees.

Saji, Nazanne and Basar are three of them. Their progress in Greek was portrayed in their participation in the Heritage of 21 April at the College Amphitheater.
